Nuruddin Sonmez (Bamsi Bey) Joins Mehmed: Sultan of Conquerors

Nuruddin Sonmez Joins Mehmed: Sultan of Conquerors Fans of Turkish historical dramas received exciting news: Nuruddin Sonmez, the beloved actor who portrayed Bamsi Bey in Diriliş: Ertuğrul and Kuruluş: Osman, has officially joined the cast of Mehmed: Sultan of Conquerors.

A New Role, Not Bamsi While many viewers hoped to see the return of Bamsi himself, Sonmez will not reprise that character. Instead, he will bring to life a new historical figure: Alpagut Tura Bey, a commander of the Aq Qoyunlu army during the reign of Uzun Hasan. This marks a significant shift, as Sonmez transitions from the loyal warrior of Ertuğrul’s time to a powerful military leader in the era of Sultan Mehmed II.

Why This Matters Star Power: Sonmez’s presence adds weight to the series, attracting fans who followed his journey in Ertuğrul and Osman.

Historical Depth: Introducing Alpagut Tura Bey expands the narrative beyond the Ottoman court, highlighting the complex alliances and rivalries of the 15th century.

Audience Excitement: Social media buzz shows fans are thrilled to see Sonmez back in a historical epic, even if it’s not as Bamsi.

Continuity for Fans Although Bamsi will not appear in Mehmed: Sultan of Conquerors, Sonmez’s casting creates a symbolic continuity. Viewers who admired his fierce loyalty and battle skills will now see him embody a different kind of strength—strategic leadership and political influence.
